The Grind to Independence

The Renaissance of the Grain Mill

‌‌Our good friend Justin at Metcalf Mills is doing a Kickstarter to raise money for a very important project. He is designing a grist or grain mill that will be affordable and accessible for folks like you and me. The goal is to have mills that people in a community can go to like back in the olden days. How great would it be to have access to freshly ground stone-ground grits?! As someone who likes to cook, I just think about all the delicious breads, pastas, desserts, cinnamon rolls, cheese grits, and the list goes on. You get the idea! What will we do if we can no longer get or afford our ground grains at the grocery store? No flour, corn meal, wheat or oats. With Justin's community grist mill, not only can we Grow Independent but we can do it Together!

These mills will be USA made with granite stones that are local to the area in which they will be built in North Carolina. They will be small enough that you can have one at your home if you prefer yet strong enough to serve your community if you decided to welcome your neighbors. You are more than welcome to share this email newsletter or his Kickstarter link with anyone you think would be interested. Thanks so much!
